website evals

The websites I chose to evaluate were:

http://www.kinderart.com/recycle/

http://www.epa.gov/recyclecity/

http://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/swfa/kidspage

We all have to do different cites, these ones just looked interesting to me.
i was thinking k-3 for my grades..so i think that if we go up to 3 grade we will be ok..i think that for my project i am going to do a lesson on why recycling is so important and then have the students know and understand what materials you can recycle. i am going to get my lesoon plan done today.. so hope no one steals my idea lol.. jk.. overall i am kinda confussed about how to do this..
Hey guys,

Yeah you are right on track I think. We just have them do something, it doesn't matter really what as long as they use technology. I had my students in the end writing a paper about what they learned. As for the media specialist, that is correct too...we just give them a job!

As far as the grade level goes, I chose 3-4th grade! I don't know if we all have to have the same grade level, but if we all did I don't think that would be bad either.

I'm working on the website evals right now...will post my selections later!

Grade Level

Yes, what grade level do we want to do? I am going to try and get my lesson done today, but the grade level is pretty important. haha. ( I was thinking like 3rd grade or around there.. any thoughts?)

I was planing on doing a lesson on: What types of materials we can recycle.
I am going to create the hotlist of links for the children to use, and then in the end have them make a powerpoint presentation with the info they find. (is that what we are supposed to do? I am kind of confused.) and then it also says we need to include a media specialist ( I was possibly going to add a part where someone would show the kids how to use a hotlist..again, is that what we are supposed to do?) and for the last part about safe surfing, I am lost...how are you guys integrating that into your lesson??

Lesson Plan

Hi guys,

I started to look at Module 3 today, and for my lesson plan I think I'm going to talk about how recycled materials turn into new things, and have the "kids" in my lesson plan talk about the process of turning the materials into something new. If you guys wanted some other ideas, I have a couple: students learn about what kinds of materials can be recycled, why do we need recycling, etc.

I wasn't sure if we all needed concept map or not. I think we only need one collaborative map, and then we work off of it for the rest of the class. I can send you guys the file for it when we need to add to it!
do we all have to post the map to all get the points..or does one person post the map??
hey the map looks GREAT>. GOOD JOB :) is that the map we are going with??

Sounds great!

Amy,

Did you post our blog url for our professor to see? And, thank you for setting this up!!

My understanding is the same as yours. It definitely needs to be something the kids can do, so having students make the electronic books about recycling, should work good!

Hello!

Hi everyone! The blog was created on Wednesday morning, and I just thought I'd post to get the ball rolling a little with what our "exact" project will be.

I know we'd talked about creating digital books about recycling for kids, and so I guess our project will be to have them make the books? I think we're supposed to design a project that the students could do to create something, at least that's what I'm getting at. So we're designing a project that the students could do to result in digital books about recycling. Sounds pretty cool!

Let me know what you guys think, or if I'm totally wrong about it.
